Atrani
about exhibition

Moments in Life – Open Air Exhibition is a project that transforms Atrani into an open-air museum, bringing contemporary sculpture into the public spaces of the village. The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between the Municipality of Atrani and Liquid Art System, and will remain on view until October 2026.

The curatorial vision is not to create a traditional museum itinerary, but rather to allow the artworks to emerge organically among alleyways, piazzas, staircases, and scenic viewpoints, entering into dialogue with the architecture and the everyday life of the village. Art thus becomes an integral part of the Mediterranean landscape, reshaping the way both residents and visitors experience and perceive Atrani.

The three invited artists share a commitment to sculpture, while expressing profoundly distinct artistic languages.

Giacinto Bosco’s practice is rooted in emotion and the human figure. His bronze sculptures explore relationships, affection, and vulnerability through forms that are both essential and deeply narrative. Their emotional dimension becomes universal, transforming sculpture into a suspended tale of memory and imagination.

Marco Cornini pursues a more essential and symbolic approach, reducing the human figure to its most elemental form until it becomes a sign. His sculptures establish a quiet dialogue with the surrounding space, emphasizing balance, emptiness, and the relationship between artwork and landscape.

Peppe Perone’s work investigates the relationship between nature, time, and memory. Organic forms and vegetal elements become metaphors for growth, transformation, and the ability of matter to preserve traces of the past.

The exhibition is united by the concept of the “moment”—not as a fleeting instant, but as an experience that leaves a lasting imprint. Each sculpture appears to capture a fragment of time and entrust it to the landscape of Atrani, creating a continuous dialogue between artwork, place, and viewer. In this sense, the title Moment in Life evokes those moments destined to settle into memory, where art and place become inseparable.

Giacinto Bosco, Marco Cornini, Peppe Perone

Giacinto Bosco was born in Alcamo (Trapani) in 1956. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in sculpture, cultivating a particular sensitivity for working with metal and bronze. His artistic practice explores the relationship between form, material, and the memory of the Mediterranean landscape. Characterized by textured surfaces and essential marks, his sculptures investigate universal themes such as identity, time, spirituality, and love. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Marco Cornini was born in Milan in 1966. He graduated in Sculpture from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 1988, the same year he held his first solo exhibition. Since the beginning of his career, he has distinguished himself through a figurative practice centered on the representation of the human body, with particular attention to the female figure. His works, often executed in polychrome terracotta and bronze, combine the traditions of sculpture with a contemporary sensibility. Sensual and suspended in an introspective dimension, his figures are primarily born from the artist’s imagination. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He lives and works between Milan and Pietrasanta.

Peppe Perone was born in Naples in 1972 and lives and works in Rotondi (Avellino). He studied at an art high school before graduating in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples in 1994. Although he shared his artistic beginnings with his brother Lucio Perone, he developed an independent visual language characterized by the use of everyday materials and found objects. His works transform domestic and industrial elements into poetic and disorienting environments. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and internationally, while also taking part in several public art projects. His research investigates the relationship between nature, memory, and the contemporary environment.
