Paolo Quaresima: Mythos and many lovely things
Liquid art system is pleased to announce the new exhibition by artist Paolo Quaresima.
Paolo Quaresima’s paintings are the result of meticulous scenographic work. The small “little theaters,” as the artist likes to call them, bring together cups, colanders, ladles, teapots, and pitchers. What appears to be chaos is, in fact, the product of a solemn ritual – a composition in which the viewer’s gaze is guided through shelves, fountains, and holy-water stoups.
Quaresima’s “many lovely things” are his stage props: amid imperfections, folds, and chips, the protagonists of this theatrical piece are the relics of a present that we often forget and fail to notice. It is a staging that advocates awareness, care, and memory.
In these recent works, the artist engages with significant references. His fictions and divertissements remain present, such as lemons and zucchini flowers with blue leaves – elements that reveal the backstage mechanisms orchestrated by Quaresima. Yet the sea urchins and Baroque-inspired rocaille motifs, the maiolica-lined pathways of the famous Villa Lysis in Capri, and the human face of a contemporary goddess are echoes of historical and mythological truths toward which the artist now turns his gaze.
On June 27, 2026, Liquid | Capri, located at 56 Via Vittorio Emanuele, will host the exhibition’s vernissage, during which the new catalogue SCENE(ry) will also be presented. In the presence of the artist, visitors will have the opportunity to view his latest works and enjoy an aperitif. The opening is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
We look forward welcoming you.
